Pine Creek Watershed Snapshot Day - June 24

May 31, 2017

Join Trout Unlimited and Penn State as we collect water quality monitoring data in the Pine Creek watershed in Lycoming, Tioga and Potter County, PA. The effort is in response to shale gas development in the area, and the potential for future development.

This event brings together volunteers from the region for one day to monitor as many sites as possible. Please join us in filling data gaps in some of the best wild trout waters in Pennsylvania and assisting Penn State University with their research.

What will the day entail?

9:30 a.m. – Meet at Tomb Flats Campground to sign-in, receive stream assignments/instructions and a refresher mini-training.
11:00 a.m. – Teams of at least two people will be assigned between 4-8 monitoring sites and provided with detailed directions and latitude/longitude coordinates for each site.
4:30 p.m. – Volunteers will meet back at the Slate Run area to drop off samples and for a streamside BBQ picnic to celebrate.

To register, provide your name and phone number to Jake Lemon at jlemon@tu.org or 814.779.3965. Please register by June 12th, 2017.
