Linda Lou Steiner

Linda Steiner is an award-winning freelance outdoor writer and photographer who lives near, in northwestern Venango County. She is a former Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association and a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. She serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Hunting, Fishing and Conservation.

Steiner is a former Becoming an Outdoors Woman instructor in fly fishing and fly tying and a former Hunter-Trapper Education instructor. She was recognized as Conservation Communicator of the Year (2000) by the Pennsylvania Wildlife Federation and received the Outstanding Pennsylvania Trout Unlimited Member Conservationist Award in 1991. She especially enjoys fly fishing for trout, rifle hunting for deer and squirrels, bicycling rail-trails and mountain hiking.
